First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air and let rest. Bring directly to
hospital.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with a lot of clean water for at least 15
minutes. Bring directly to hospital.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove polluted clothing. Rinse skin thoroughly for a long
time with a lot of water. Bring directly to hospital.
Special note for the physician: the substance is absorbed
through the skin.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse the mouth a few times with water. Do not induce
vomiting. Take to hospital immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use local availbale extinguishers.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may be methanol, carbon monoxides,
nitrous oxides and formaldehyde.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and positive pressure breathing
apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Cover liquid with absorbent. Convert mixture with spark free
equipment into plastic (lined) containers and remove to
depot for dangerous waste. Remove contaminated clothing as
dangerous waste as well.

Handling and storage

Handling: For normal use protective clothing (Neotop gloves, apron and
full face mask with filter (multi/dust) AXP3 <63C) should
be worn when working with the material under local exhaust
ventilation.

In case of emergency Neotop gloves, CPF II suit and boots
and mask with compressed air should be worn.

Storage: Store fire proof.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Ca. 30% methanol solution in metal drums of 15 Kg.

Dust explosion: Yes, since the pure substance is a powder an air/dust
mixture explosion may occur. However, in practice the
substance will be imported in a solution of methanol.
