Description of key information

2-tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate is not stable under adsorption/desorption test conditions. The ability of 2-tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate to adsorb to soil and sediment is therefore estimated using the validated calculation model KOCWIN.

Soil adsorption coefficients (Koc) were calculated of 82.2 and 97.4 L/kg using respectively the molecular connectivity index and log Kow as starting point for the calculations. The average of 89.8 L/kg of the two calculated Koc values is used for riks assessment purposes. This low Koc value indicates that 2 -tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate has a low tendency to adsorb to soil, sediment or sludge.
