Administrative data
First-aid measures
Move affected person to fresh air. Keep the person warm and at rest.
If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.
If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical advice.
Ingestion :
Rinse mouth with water.
Keep the person warm and at rest.
Seek medical advice.
Contact with skin:
Flush contaminated skin with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothes and shoes.
Get medical attention immediately.
Contact with eyes:
Rinse immediatly eyes with plenty of water. Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. If the victim wear contact lenses, remove them and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes. Get medical attention.
Protection of first-aiders:
Wear a suited personal protective equipment (anti-dust helmet type P3, safety glasses, gloves) . No initiative must be taken which involves an individual risk or in the absence of appropriate training.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed :
repeated exposure can cause a respiratory chronic irritation.
Treat symptomatically
Fire-fighting measures
use dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during firefighting:
Fine dust clouds may form explosive mixtures with air. Runoff to sewer may create fire or explosion hazard. Fire water contaminated with this material must be contained and prevented from being discharged to any waterway, sewer or drain.
Prevent water used in emergency cases from entering sewers and drainage systems.
The decomposition products may contain the following substances :
carbon dioxide
carbone monoxide
nitrogen oxides
halogenated compounds
Advice for firefighters :
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures .
Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident in case of fire.
Move containers away from the zone of fire if it present no risk.
Cool containers with a water jet sprayed.
Use personal protective equipment.
In the event of fire, wear autonomous self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with full facial mask working in positive pressure mode.
Wear personal protective equipment.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Evacuate unnecessary and unprotected personnel to safe areas. Neither touch nor walk in the wide-spread product. Do not breathe dust.
Provide adequate ventilation. Wear a protective respiratory apparatus when ventilation is inadequate and wear a personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions : inform competent authorities in case of environmental pollution (sewers, leaks, ground, air) by the product.
May be harmful for the environment in case of pouring of large quantities.
Methods and material of containment and cleaning :
Spillage : Block any possible penetration in sewers, streams, cellars or stuffy zones. Collect the solid or the absorbed product with a shovel and put the whole in an appropriated and labelled waste container.
Handling and storage
Wear a suited personal protective equipment. Use spark-proof tools (ATEX tools) or explosion-proof equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Avoid release to the environment. Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.
wear appropriated breathing apparatus when ventilation is inadequate.
General advice on professional hygiene :
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Take off contaminated clothes et protective equipements before enter in catering area. It is recommendated to wash hands and face before eating, drinking or smoking.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities :
Store in accordance with local regulations. Store in the original container. Store out of direct sunlight, in a dry cool and well-ventlated area, away from incompatible materials.
Use appropriated container to avoid ny contamination ofthe environment. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use.
