Melting point  Observations
25 10 375  - The test item was hardened and moved towards
the upper part of the capillary, its color darkened.
25 5 300  - The test item was hardened and moved towards
the upper part of the capillary, its color became grey.
25 5 250  - No change was observed.
215 2 300  - The test item was hardened and moved towards
the upper part of the capillary, its color became dark grey.

Main Test

For the main study, the metal block was heated using 0.5 °C/min heating rate. The capillaries containing the test item were placed into the apparatus where the temperature was raised at 0.5 °C/min heating rate and after heating were examined visually. Melting point of the test item was not detected. Based on the visual observation in the change of color, the test item is regarded to decompose above 260 °C.

300 0.5 375  - The test item was hardened and moved towards the upper part of the capillary, its color became dark brown.
Conclusions:
Melting point of the test item could not be detected. Based on the visual observation in the change of color, the test item is regarded to decompose above 260 °C.
Executive summary:

A study was performed according to OECD TG 102, Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.1 and OPPTS 830.7200 in order to determine the melting point of the test item by using the capillary method. For the main test, the metal block was heated using 0.5 °C/min heating rate. The capillaries containing the test item were placed into the apparatus where the temperature was raised at 0.5 °C/min heating rate and after heating were examined visually. Melting point of the test item could not be detected. Between 260 and 275 °C the colour of the test item first became grey to dark grey and from 280 °C to 375 °C the test item was hardened and moved towards the upper part of the capillary, its color became dark brown. Based on the visual observation, the test item is regarded to decompose above 260 °C.

Description of key information

Melting point of the test item could not be detected. Based on the visual observation in the change of color, the test item is regarded to decompose above 260 °C.
