Description of key information

Studies with the individual components are available. Based on the results found it can be concluded that the toxicity of the acid is expected to be the main contributor to the toxicity of the salt. Therefore the LC/EC50 of the acid will be used as starting point for risk assessment. The LC50 of 1.67 mg/L in fish represents the worst case and will be the starting point for the derivation of the PNEC.

The EC50 for activated sludge of the acid was 500 mg/L (worst case) in a study with activated sludge according OECD 209.
