Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Hydrolysis

The hydrolysis (Kb) for the test compound Phenethyl isovalerate as estimated by EPI suite is found to be 0.02078 L/mol-sec at pH >8.

Biodegradation in water: screening tests

The predicted data for the test compound Phenethyl isovalerate(CAS No. 140-26-1) was reviewed for the biodegradation end point which was summarized as below:

Estimation Programs Interface Suite (EPI suite) was run to predict the biodegradation potential of the test compound Phenethyl isovalerate(CAS No. 140-26-1). The screening test inherent to the biodegradability of the substance was calculated using the software BIOWIN v4.10. The results indicate Phenethyl isovalerate was estimated to be not readily biodegradable in water.

Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediment

Bioaccumulation concentration factor (BCF) value of Phenethyl isovalerate was estimated to be 193.9 L/kg wet-wt which indicates the chemical to be non bioaccumulative in nature.

Adsorption / desorption:

WoE study summary:

All predicted sources i.e EPI Suite,PBT profiler and Chemspider database indicate that the test substance Phenethyl isovalerate has a moderate sorption to soil and sediment and slow migration potential to groundwater.

With following Koc values:

EPI SUITE - 1113 (Log Koc=3.0466 )

PBT profiler -1100 (Log KoC=3.041)

Chemspider - 3233.88 (log KOC =3.509)

Other weight of evidence studies for read across from HSDB database indicate that the soil adsorption coefficient (Koc) value of 2-phenethyl propionate is found to be 476 and forBenzyl acetateit is 180. This Koc values suggests that 2-phenethyl propionate andBenzyl acetateis expected to have moderate mobility in soil.

Overall all result concluded that the test substance Phenethyl isovalerate has a moderate sorption to soil.

Henry's law constant

Prediction model based estimation of Henry's Law constant is done for the test chemical Phenethyl isovalerate. The summary is s below:

The Henry's law Constant for the test material Phenethyl isovalerate is estimated to be 4.45 Pa-m3/mole at 25 deg C by the EPI Suite estimation program.

Estimation of the Henry's Law contant was performed using SRC Phys Prop Database, 2016. Henry's Law constant for the test compound Phenethyl isovalerate is found to be 0.000044 atm m3/mol.
