First-aid measures
First aid measures
General advice: Remove contaminated cloth at once.
If you feel unwell, seek medical attention (if possible, show product label to the physician)
inhalation
Fresh air. If difficulties occour: Seek medical advice. After inhalation of decomposed product: Immediately inhale corticosteroid dose aerosol.
Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, and get medical attention.
skin contact
Wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap, get medical attention.
eye contact
Wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.
Ingestion
Immediately rinse mouth with water, and then drink 200 to 300 ml water afterwards, get medical attention
notes to physician:
danger: After inhalation of decomposition products: risk of pulmonary edema. Symtoms can appear later.
Treatment: Treat according to symtoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidot.
After inhalation of decomposition products: pulmonary edema prophylaxis.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry extinguishing media, foam
Specific hazards:
At temperatures of above 42C the following products can be emitted:
Ammonia, hydrogen sulphides, phosphine, carbon monoxide, nitrous gases, sulphur oxides, phosphor oxides
Decomposes on heating
Personal protection gear
Wear self contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.
Further information
Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. Fire water contaminated with this material must be contained and deposed of in accordance with local
laws and regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Do not breathe vapor/spray.
Remove contaminated clothing at once.
Environmental precaution
Do not discharge into drain, surface water, or groundwater. Retainand dispose of contaminated wash water.
methods for cleaning up or taking up
For small amounts: Sweep/shovel up.
For large amounts: Sweep/shovel up.
For residues: Sweep/shovel up.
Pack in tightly closed container for disposal. Incinerate or take to a special waste disposal site, in accordance with local laws and regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling
Avoid contact with the skin, eyes, or clothing. Avoid inhalation of mists/vapors. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary).
Fire and explosion hazards
Take precautionary measures against electrostatic discharges.
Storage
Suitable materials for storage containers: stainless steel 1.4301 (V2), stainless steel 1.4401 (V4), High density polyethylene (HDPE)
Further information on storage conditions: Protect against heat. Protect from direct sunlight. Protect against contamination.
Storage stability
storage temperature: 20ºC, storage duration: <= 6 months
storage temperature: -10ºC, storage duration > 6 months

Exposure controls / personal protection
Components with workplace control parameters: none
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection in case of vapor/aerosol release. (Particle filter EN 143, type P2)
Hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)
Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)
Body protection:
Light protective clothing
General protection and hygiene measures
When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. At the end of the shift the skin should be cleaned and skin-care agents applied.
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition >42ºC
Decomposes on heating. To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.
Substances to avoid: Acids, alkalies, strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous reactions:
Reacts with acids to form hydrogen sulfide.
Evolution of ammonia under influence of alkalies.
Hazardous decomposition products:
Ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, phosphine, nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, phosphorous oxides
Disposal considerations
Must be dumped or incinerated in accordance with local laws and regulations.
Contaminated packaging
Packs that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in the same manner as the contents.
