Description of key information

Three studies assessing aquatic toxicity at three different trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae) are available.

In a first study, the toxicity to algae was assessed according to OECD 201. The ErC50 and ErC10 values (growth rate) derived for algae were 38.1 mg/L and 19.2 mg/L, respectively. In a second study, the short-term toxicity of the test item to Daphnia was evaluated according to OECD 202. The EC50 value obtained for Daphnia was >100 mg/L. The short-term toxicity to fish was determined in a limit test. The treshold concentration evaluated was 38 mg/L, which corresponds to the lowest EC50 value available for other trophic levels, Daphnia and algae. No mortality or other effects were observed at this treshold concentration, hence it can be concluded that fish is not the most sensitive species and that the LC50 is >38 mg/L.
