Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Appearance
The test item is a straw coloured viscous liquid at room temperature with no reported odour.
Melting/freezing point
The pour point of the test item has been determined to be -12 ± 3°C (261 ± 3K) using OECD 102 and EU Method A.1).
Boiling point
The test item has been determined to decompose from approximately 100°C (373K) at 100 - 102 kPa (OECD 103 and EU Method A.2).
Relative density
The density of the test item has been determined to be 1.11E03 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5°C with a relative density of 1.11 (OECD 109 and EU Method A.3).
Granulometry
The test item is a liquid and determination of particle size distribution is not relevant.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 2.4E-03 Pa at 38°C, 1.5E-02Pa at 68 °C and 3.4E-02 Pa at 79 °C (OECD 104 and EU Method A.4).
Partition coefficient
The overall weighted partition coefficient of the test item has been determined to be 1.48 E05 with an overall weighted log10 Pow of 5.17. The test item had a weighted partition coefficient range of 1.32 to 1.07E08 and weighted log10 Pow range of 0.12 to 8.03 (OECD 117 and EU Method A.8).
Water solubility
The water solubility of the test item as a single, specific value at 20.0 ± 0.5 ºC could not be determined. The result indicated that the water solubility. of the test item was loading rate dependent using the flask shake method. The results at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C with effect of loading rate were determined to be 0.194 to 0.283 g/L at a nominal loading rate of 1g/L, 4.04E-02 to 5.03E-02 at a nominal loading rate at 0.1g/L and 4.10E-03 to 5.78E-03 at a nominal loading rate of 0.01g/L.
Surface tension
The mean surface tension of solutions of the test item in water, prepared at a nominal 1.1g/L and then diluted to 90 % of the saturated solution have been determined to be 48.0 mN/m at 21.5 ± 0.5 °C. The test item was considered to be surface active (OECD 115 and EU Method A.5).
Flash point
The flash point of the test item has been determined to be 188+/- 2 °C (EU Method A.9).
Autoflammability / self-ignition temperature
The test item has been determined to have an auto-ignition temperature of 286 ± 5 °C at atmospheric pressure between 101.7 to 103.2 kPa (EU Method A.15).
Flammability
According to the ECHA (2008, Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment. Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance. Guidance for the implementation of REACH, section R.7.1.10 Flammability, p 120) the flammability does not have to be tested for liquids as the flash point is the primary indicator for ease of ignition. The Flash point of the submission item was determined to be 188 deg C and is adequate for classification labelling and assessment (non-flammable). In addition, the submission item does not ignite in contact with air or water. Thus no further study for flammability is required and the hazard assessment for ignition is based on the flash point of the submission item.
Explosive properties
Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for explosive properties has been predicted negative. Oxidising properties
Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.
