In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex X, as the substance is not mutagenic and as no hyperplasia and/or pre-neoplastic lesions were observed in the repeated dose studies, a carcinogenicity study is not necessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the negative results in the in vitro and in vivo genotoxicity studies, and the absence of hyperplasia and/or pre-neoplastic lesions in the available repeated dose studies, MIPA is considered to be non-carcinogenic. As a result the substance is not considered to be classified for carcinogenicity under Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
