Measured data is available for members of this category with 6, 8 and 18 carbon atoms. Data is also available for an alpha olefin with a carbon range of C20-22 (Webb, 2001). There is a clear trend of increasing log Kow with increasing carbon number. We can therefore conclude that the log Kow of octacos-1 -ene is >8. This is supported by the QSAR predicted value of 13.96 and 16.31 (USEPA 2008; Karickhoff et al, 2009).
