First-aid measures
* General advice:
Show this guidance on safe use to the doctor in attendance.
First aider needs to protect himself.
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Including shoes.
* Inhalation:
Move to fresh air.
Keep at rest.
Consult a physician immediately. Inhalation of any corrosive substance may cause a risk of pulmonary oedema which can be triggered with delay. Depending on the situation medical monitoring may be required for a minimum of 48 hours
* Skin contact:
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Get medical attention immediately.
* Eye contact:
Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open (at least 15 minutes)
Seek advice of an ophthalmologist.
* Ingestion:
Do NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
Do not give anything to drink.
* Protection of first-aiders:
Specific methods:
Wear suitable protective equipment.
Contain the spread of extinguishing fluids.
Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Do not inhale fumes.

Nitrogen trichloride can be produced during the synthesis of monochloramine, if excess chlorine is present. Nitrogen trichloride is an explosive substance. Therefore, its formation has to be absolutely avoided.
Solution stable without explosive properties up to 30 g/L. If decomposition occurs small energy is released.
Solution at 10 g/L or lower has no explosive properties, but degrades naturally at ambient temperature.
A temperature increase may cause degassing of chlorinated substances, resulting from the decomposition of monochloramine.
Corrosive or suffocating vapours may be released.

Where there is a risk of contact with hands, use appropriate gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.
Gloves must be inspected prior to use.
Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.
