Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move the exposed subject to fresh air. If breathing is
difficult ensure and maintain ventilation. Give oxygen as
appropriate. The exposed subject should be kept warm and at
rest. Obtain medical attention if any adverse reaction
occurs.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash immediately with plenty of clean and gently flowing
water. Continue for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and flush the exposed area with
large amounts of water. Obtain medical attention if skin
reaction occurs.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: There is no known reaction with non-aqueous standard
extinguishing agents. Agents such as dry chemical, carbon
dioxide and foam are acceptable, but water should not be
used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion my contain soot, oxides of carbon,
water, NOx and N2.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing,
including seff-contained breathing equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Fence or cordon the affected area and do not allow
indviduals to touch or walk through the spilled material
unless wearing appropriate protective clothing.

Prevent entry to waterways, sewers, surface drains and
poorly ventilated areas.

Contain spill with sand and other inert materials. Collect
material in a suitable properly labelled container for
recovery or disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: The imported preparation should be handled by trained
individuals wearing appropriate personal protective
equipment (gloves, coveralls and safety glasses).

Storage: Store dry under cool, dry conditions out of direct sunlight
in closed containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Typically packed in 3 gallon and 6 gallon polyethylene
pails.

Danger other than fire: Not considered to be reactive.

Chemical reaction with water: Not reactive in water.

Dust explosion: Not applicable. The imported preparation is marketed as a
40% aqueous emulsion.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The imported preparation is consumed or mixed with other
materials during use and there is no possibility of
recycling the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of disposal. Stack gases must
be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Landfill of low level waste is possible, as permitted by
local regulations.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not considered possible. The substance will only reach the
public domain in the form of domestic and personal care
products.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not known.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The product will be discharged into domestic waste systems
after use.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: See above.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Used products supplied to the general public would be likely
to be disposed of in waste water.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Used product containers will be disposed of into domestic
waste disposal systems.
