Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

After inhalation: Supply fresh air and seek medical attention. Risk of delayed lung edema.
After skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with plenty water. Obtain medical attention when corrosion occurs. Rub skin
with cream.
After eye contact: Immediately flush affected eye(s) with water and continue flushing for at least 15 min. Obtain medical attention and continue
to flush during transport. Risk of permanent eye damage.
After ingestion: Flush mouth with water and drink plenty of water or milk. Do not try to induce vomiting. Do not give unconscious patients anything todrink. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray.
Formation of toxic and corrosive gasses is possible. Avoid inhalation of fumes.

Accidental release measures

Evacuate area. Cover up drains. Eliminate sources of ignition.
Absorb spillage in absorbing material and transfer to suitable container. Wash the spillage area with plenty of water, and prevent entry into drains.

Handling and storage

Persons who handle this material must be familiar with the hazards of the material and the necessary safety precautions.

The substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions.
The substance is isolated from a closed drier and discharged closed to bigbags, using local exhaustion to take dust from the disconnection of the bigbag
The substance is charged from bigbags with a closed connection to a PTS and a local exhaustion to take dust from the disconnection of the bigbag. Alternative the chargering is done from the bigbag directly to the reactor through a closed connection and using a local exhaustion to take dust from the disconnection of the bigbag.
The process using the substance is closed, sampling in the process is done closed, through a dip pipe.
The remaining amount of the substance after the precipitation is negligible.

Exposure controls / personal protection

The substance is used under strictly controlled condition (SCC) during its whole lifecycle:
(a) the substance is rigorously controlled from its arrival to its use and transformation:
(b) procedural (Standard Operating Procedures for use) and control technologies are used to minim
ize
emission and any resulting exposure;
(c) the substance is handled only by trained and authorized personnel;
(d) in the case of cleaning and maintenance works, special procedures such as equipment washing
are
applied before the system is opened and entered;
(e) in cases of accident and where waste is generated, there is an Emergency Plan to minimize emiss
ions
and the resulting exposure;
(f) substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.
In case of insufficient ventilation, use a self-contained breathing apparatus or a mask with dust filter.
Use tightly sealed goggles.
Use protective gloves (nitril).
RMM-document with SCC-details enclosed in section 13.

Stability and reactivity

Stable at normal temperaure and pressure.
The product is a flammable liquid and and vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.
The product should be disposed of according to local regulations.

Disposal considerations

Disposal in closed cycle incinerator.
