- Justification for type of information:
- JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with section 1.1 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted if equivalent data is available. Based on ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R. 7a, v4.1, October 2015, §R7.1.12), the UN Test N.4 is preferable to generate information for this endpoint. Please refer to Flammmability (self-heating temperature) under 4.13.

- Executive summary:
The determination of the flammability of Lithium Trifluoromethanesulfonate was performed using a powder train about 250 mm long, according to UN Test N.1.
In the preliminary screening test , after removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test item was observed. No further testing was required.
Lithium Trifluoromethansulfonate is not classified as a flammable solid.
In contact with the flame of the gas burner the test item melted and turned into a white residue. White smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test item was observed.
No propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required.
