The adsorption/desorption characteristics of substance was studied in activated sludge of a waste water treatment plant at a concentration of 1 g suspended solids/L and a test substance concentration of 1.20 mg/L. Supernatant was analyzed by LSC and HPLC at 0, 3 and 24 hours. The adsorption of substance was low, not exceeding 4.4 % of the initial amount applied, resulting in a distribution coefficient of 16.7 l/kg and a Koc value of 59.2 l/kg. With this result, substance can be characterized as reasonably mobile in the environment.
