Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

ACUTE TOXICITY

Reliable acute toxicity data for freshwater organisms are available for three trophic levels: aquatic invertebrates, fish and algae:

Fish

The results indicate that Neo Heliopan® AP was not found to be toxic to zebrafish after 96 hours up to a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L and a geometric mean measured concentration of 90 mg/L.

Daphnia magna

The results indicate that Neo Heliopan® AP was not found to immobilise the daphnia magna up to a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L and a geometric mean measured concentration of 96.6 mg/L.

Algae

The results indicate that Neo Heliopan® AP was not found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green algae Desmodesmus subspicatus up to a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L and a geometric mean measured concentration of 88.2 mg/L.

CHRONIC TOXICITY

Daphnia magna

At test concentrations of 0.316 and 0.1 mg test item/L, significant effects could not be observed.

The EC10 value is estimated at >1 mg/L (nominal for reproduction and immobilitsation effects) as a mean reproduction of 92.3 % was observed at the highest tested concentration of 1 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) and the Lowest Observed Effect Concentration (LOEC) were as follows:

NOEC: 0.316 mg/L (nominal)

LOEC: 1 mg/L (nominal).

Toxicity to microorganisms

Neo Heliopan® AP does not inhibit respiration in activated sludge up at a concentration of 10000 mg/L. This concentration is considered an unbounded NOEC.
