Description of key information

The surface tension of Hydroxyambran is 59.7 mN/m.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
59.7
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
0.97

Additional information

The surface tension of Hydroxyambran was determined according to the EC Test Guideline A.5 and the OECD Test Guideline 115 using the OECD harmonized ring method.

The surface tension of Hydroxyambran is 59.7 mN/m.

In accordance to EC Test Guideline A.5 a test substance should be evaluated as surface-active, if the surface tension is < 60 mN/m.

Therefore Hydroxyambran is to evaluate as slightly surfave-active.
