The ready biodegradability of Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues was evaluated in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 301 F and GLP requirements. The maximum level of biodegradation was 39% in 28 days (after correction due to nitrification). Therefore, according to these results, Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues is not considered as readily biodegradable but should be considered as inherently biodegradable.

As PEC/PNEC ratio for soil and sediment obtained in the exposure assessment are below 1, the conduct of simulation tests of the degradation in water and sediment or soil is waived in accordance with column 2 of Annex IX chapter 9.2 of Regulation EC 1907/2006.
