The substance is readily biodegradable. Due to the low water solubility the potential of the substance to hydrolyse is considered to be low. Based on the physico-chemical properties (such as low water solubility) and high adsorption potential, sediment and soil are expected to be the main targets for environmental distribution. However, due to the ready biodegradability, the substance will not persist in these compartments. As the substance has a low vapour pressure (< 0.001 Pa at 20°C) and low water solubility, little evaporation into air is suggested. However if emitted into the air the test item is susceptible to indirect photodegradation (DT50 = 0.466 day, AOPWIN v1.92). The substance will not bioaccumulate based on a Log Pow > 9.4, an estimated BCF = 77.7 L/kg. Furthermore the proposed breakdown products show no concern for toxicity. Therefore, in accordance with Annex VIII the substance is not bioaccumulative. The justification for read-across is presented in Section 13 Assessment reports- Read-across justification.
