Conclusion on classification

Aquatic plants (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) were found to be the most sensitive species relevant for classification for environmental hazards. The 72-hours EC50 for growth rate was 30 mg/L; with reference to Part 4 of Annex 1 to the CLP regulation (as amended by the 2nd ATP to the CLP regulation, Commission Regulation 286/2011), Jasminlactone therefore does not meet the criteria for classification as Category Acute 1 (72 hour EC50≤ 1 mg/L).

There are no adequate chronic toxicity data for Jasminlactone, therefore consideration of the chronic classification is based on the acute data, and on the biodegradation result and log Kow. Jasminlactone was found to be rapidly biodegradable and log10 Pow1.84. Therefore, Jasmonlactone does not meet the classification criteria for classification as aquatic toxicant.
