Observations
All reference item mixtures showed clear signs of oxidising properties (cracks, sparkling).
All test item mixtures showed no signs of oxidising properties. The mixture burned with yellow-orange flame with some smoke. But the flame of mixtures 50/50, 60/40, 70/30, 80/20 and 90/10 died. No sparkling and cracks were observed

The flame of the mixture with 50% test item died after 02:42.44 min. The flame of the mixture with 60% died after 03:23.06 min and the flame of the mixture with 70% died after 0:29.37 min. The flame of the mixture with 80% and 90% of the test item died before the start marker of the 200 mm distance was passed.
As the burning rate was lower than the highest burning rate of the reference item mixtures, the determination of burning rate was repeated five times for each of the three mixtures test item/cellulose (10%; 20%; 30%) with the highest burning rates.
The data are presented in the following tables.

Result
The highest burning rate of the three mixtures test item/cellulose was determined to be 2.34 mm/s. The maximum burning rate of the reference item was determined to be 2.67 mm/s. Therefore, the test item is considered to have no oxidising properties.
DISCUSSION
In all tests with the test item, no signs of oxidising properties were observed and no burning rate surpasses the burning rate of the reference item/cellulose mixtures. Therefore the test item is considered to have no oxidising properties.
No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- study cannot be used for classification
- Conclusions:
- The study cannot be used for classification according to CLP or GHS criteria. However, based on the structure the substance is not oxidising according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP): the substance contains oxygen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon.
