Solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility

Administrative data

Endpoint:
solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Type of information:
other: statement
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
11 June 2010- 05 July 2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
This study has been performed according to OECD and EC guideline and according to GLP principles. The fat solubility of a test substance is an end-point to evaluate the storage of lipid soluble materials in biological samples. It is useful in cases in which the water solubility is too low to allow the measurement of the partition coefficient. Both the water solubility and partition coefficient of the test substance were determined in NOTOX project 493287. Since these endpoints are available it is not required to perform the OECD 116 test on the determination of the fat solubility.
