Description of key information
N-(Oleyl alkyl)- 1,3-propanediamine mono-oleates is poorly soluble in water and is expected to have a low bioaccumulation potential. According to EPISuite the BCF is predicted as 70.8 L/kg wetweight.
Due to the complex structure of the test item: N-(Oleyl alkyl)- 1,3 -propanediamine mono-oleates (UVCB) and low water solubility, the WSF approach was used for ecotoxicity testing.
Per definition of the WSF, all terms related to concentration levels have to be given as loading levels because partly dissolved compounds and mixtures cannot be related to concentrations. Therefore, the EL10/50/100-values given were based on the nominal loading levels.
For the 72h algae study with Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata an ErL50 and ErL10 of respectively 0.276 and 0.232 mg/L based on nominal loading levels were observed.
For the 48h semi-static acute crustacean study with Daphnia magna an EL50 of 0.934 mg/L based on nominal loading level was observed.
For the 96h semi-static (daily renewal) acute fish study with Danio rerio an LL0 and LL50 of respectively 0.3 and >0.3 mg/L based on nominal loading levels was observed.
For the 30m microorganism study with activated sludge bacteria an EC50 of 25.1 mg/L based on nominal loading levels was observed.

In addition to the loading levels, concentrations of the oleyldiamine fraction in test solutions were monitored. But as indicated partly dissolved compounds and mixtures cannot be related to concentrations. Expressing the dose effect relationship using these measured concentrations of just one main constituent is thus questionable.
