Results

The results of duplicate definitive determinations on Dihexyl Fumarate (EC 242-833-4) were as follows:

Barometric pressure: 1019 mbar.

As the boiling tubes were heated at 1C/minute, the samples were observed to darken at temperatures above approximately 240°C, indicating decomposition. When heated beyond this temperature in a preliminary trial, the sample continued to darken until boiling at approximately 354°C.

Conclusions:
The boiling temperature of Dihexyl Fumarate (EC 242-833-4) was not determinable as the test item decomposed at temperatures above approximately 240°C before boiling.
