Specific details on test material used for the study:
Instead of the oven described in test procedure A.16 the Grewer oven (VDI guideline 2263, part 1, 1990) was used. Both ovens are similar and the results are comparable.

Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Remarks on result:
other: No exothermic reaction and no self-ignition was observed up to the melting point.

Any other information on results incl. tables

In the temperature/time-diagram two weak endothermic effects were observed.

The first one is in the range from 168 to 178 °C and the second one in the range from 220 to 231 °C. At the end of the measurements the basket was empty. No exothermic reaction and no self-ignition was observed. These findings correspond with the result from the melting temperature measurement.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Macrolex Rot B does not undergo spontaneous combustion.
Executive summary:

The relative self-ignition temperature of Macrolex Rot B was investigated according to EC Test Procedure A.16 'Relative self-ignition temperature for solids'.

Thus, it can be concluded that Macrolex Rot B does not undergo spontaneous combustion (BTS 2018).
