Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Justification:
Persistence
Not vP or P
When investigated using the closed bottle method (OECD 306), and based on Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), the test material showed high potential for degradation in the marine environment over 28 days at test concentrations of 1.5 mg/L (71.1 % degradation) and 3.5 mg/L (70.3 % degradation). Furthermore, dissolved oxygen concentration removal of 75 % was demonstrated in the nutrient fortified seawater with a test item concentration of 3.5 mg/L. As a result, and in line with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7b: Endpoint specific guidance (Version 4.0; June 2017), the test item is considered likely to fulfil the criteria for ready biodegradability. The registered substance is also considered unlikely to persist since it is acknowledged that biodegradation in seawater is generally slower than in freshwater.
Bioaccumulation
Not B
Bioconcentration factor (BCF) for the selected registered substance is predicted to be 70.79 L/kg wet weight and, in accordance with ECHA guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.11: PBT/vPvB assessment (Version 3.0; June 2017), bioaccumulation is not expected when the aquatic BCF of a substance is < 2000 L/kg.
Toxicity
Potentially T
Based on available evidence for an analogue substance (EC271-657-0), and in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, the registered substance does not meet criteria for classification as a carcinogen (category 1A or 1B), germ cell mutagen (category 1A or 1B) or reproductive toxin (category 1A, 1B or 2). Chronic toxicity leading to classification as a specific target organ toxicant (STOT RE 1 or STOT RE 2) is also considered to be unlikely. With respect to the environment, the registered substance meets Aquatic Acute 1 and Aquatic Chronic 1 environmental classification criteria for rapidly biodegradable substances for which there are no adequate long-term data available. Present regulatory obligations do not require investigation of long-term exposure to the substance in fish or aquatic invertebrates and it is not possible to definitively conclude on T properties (see ECHA guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.11: PBT/vPvB assessment (Version 3.0; June 2017).
