Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Fish acute

The 96-hour LC50 to Pimephales promelas was calculated to be 4.87 mg C12-18 AAPHS /L (2.12 mg active ingredient/L) and is considered appropriate for read-across purposes to C12 -14 AAPHS.

Fish early life stage toxicity

The most conservative 32-day EC10 (based on larval growth (weight)) to P. promelas was found to be 0.075 mg C8-18 AAPHS solid content/L, based on mean measured test concentrations. This endpoint is considered appropriate for read-across purposes to C12-14 AAPHS.

Daphnia acute
The 48 h EC50 of 9.3 mg test item/L (4.0 mg C12-18 AAPHS /L) was derived by graphical means. The corresponding NOEC was estimated to be 2.2 mg test item/L. This endpoint is considered appropriate for read-across purposes to C12 -14 AAPHS.

Daphnia reproduction
The 21-day NOEC (survival and reproduction) was found to be 2.9 mg/L (corresponding to 1.05 mg C8 -18 AAPHS /L) (based on mean measured concentrations) and is considered appropriate for read-across purposes to C12 -14 AAPHS.

Algae
The 72-hour EC50 of the test item was determined to be 5.38 mg test item/L (2.26 mg C8-18 AAPHS /L). The 72-hour NOEC (highest concentration tested without toxic effects after the test period of 72 hours) of the test item was determined to be 1.80 mg test item/L (0.76 mg C8-18 AAPHS /L). These endpoints are considered appropriate for read-across purposes to C12 -14 AAPHS.

Microorganisms
The source substance, C8 -18 AAPHS, has no inhibitory effect on the respiration rate of activated sludge after the incubation period of three hours up to and including the test concentration of 2762 mg test item/L, corresponding to 1000 mg C8-18 AAPHS /L. The 3h EC50 is therefore >1000 mg C8-18 AAPHS /L and is considered appropriate for read-across purposes to C12 -14 AAPHS.
