Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM E 537
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) records the difference of the temperature of a substance and an empty measuring cell. The substance and reference cell were subjected to the same controlled temperature program. The sample (trial 1: 11.6 mg (Mz. 15), trial 2: 13.5 mg (Mz. 16) and trial 3: 12 mg (Mz. 17)) was heated in a glass vessel at a linear rate of 1 K/min up to 20 °C. The measurement was recorded electronically.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Remarks:
Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch number: 20140202
Content: 98.6 %
Physical condition: clear colorless liquid
Expiration date: 2030-12-09
Storage: Room temperature
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no
Remarks on result:
other: There is no melting point down to -35°C.

There are no endothermic effects in the temperature range from -35°C to 20°C which indicated a melting.

Conclusions:
2,2,4-Trimethyl-1-oxa-4-aza-2-silacyclohexane shows no melting point down to -35°C.
Executive summary:

2,2,4-Trimethyl-1-oxa-4-aza-2-silacyclohexane shows no melting point down to -35°C.

The Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) was used.

Analysis was carried out according to (EC) No 440/2008 A.1 (ASTM E 537).
