Classification

   GHS / CLP  DSD
 Skin corrosion / irritation

Skin mild irrit.3; H316: causes mild skin irritation. However the substance received a Harmonised Classification as Skin Irrit 2; H315.

Considering it is not allowed to use a classification less severe than the Harmonised Classification, the substance is therefore classified as Skin Irrit 2; H315.

Xi; R36/37/38 irritating to eyes respiratory system and skin.
Eye irritation  Eye irritant 2A; H319: causes serious eye irritation   Xi; R36/37/38 irritating to eyes respiratory system and skin.
Skin sensitisation  Skin sens.1; H317: may cause an allergic skin reaction   Xi; R36/37/38 irritating to eyes respiratory system and skin.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Effects on eye irritation: highly irritating

Effects on respiratory irritation: irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

Chlorendic Anhydride is classified as highly irritating to eyes and irritating to the respiratory system but would not be considered a primary skin irritant or a corrosive material. The test material could be further classified, based upon the scores obtained as being slightly irritating to the skin.

The substance received a Harmonised Classification as Skin Irrit 2; H315. Considering it is not allowed to use a classification less severe than the Harmonised Classification, the substance is therefore classified as Skin Irrit 2; H315.
