Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

PNEC freshwater sediment:

K_(susp-water) = 288 m³/m³

RHO_(susp) = 1150

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 4.6

PNEC_freshwater sediment = (K_susp-water) / RHO_(susp)) * PNEC_water * 1000

= (288/1150) * 0.022 * 1000

= 5.509565 mg/kg wwt

= 25.344 mg/kg dwt

The PNEC (sediment-freshwater) of dry weight (dw) of the test item is 25.344 mg/kg corresponding to the wet weight (ww) value of 5.51 mg/kg (conversion factor: 4.6).

PNEC marine sediment:

K_(susp-water) = 288 m³/m³

RHO_(susp) = 1150

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 4.6

PNEC_freshwater sediment = (K_susp-water) / RHO_(susp)) * PNEC_water * 1000

= (288/1150) * 0.0022 * 1000

= 0.5509565 mg/kg wwt

= 2.5344 mg/kg dwt

The PNEC (sediment-freshwater) of dry weight (dw) of the test item is 2.5344 mg/kg corresponding to the wet weight (ww) value of 0.5509565 mg/kg (conversion factor: 4.6).

PNEC soil:

K_(soil-water) = 344 m³/m³

RHO_(soil) = 1700

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 1.13

PNEC_soil

= (K_(soil-water) / RHO_(soil)) * PNEC_water * 1000

= (244/1700) * 0.022 * 1000

= 3.1576 mg/kg wwt

= 3.568 mg/kg dwt

The PNEC (soil) of dry weight (dw) of the test item is 3.1576 mg/kg corresponding to the wet weight (ww) value of 3.568 mg/kg (conversion factor: 1.13).

Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity:

Aquatic lagae is the most sensitive species to the acute toxic effects of the test item with an ErC50 of 6.17 mg/L. Based on these data, the substance does not have to be classified with regard to short-term (acute) environmental toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP/GHS), as amended for the fifteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2020/1182.

Chronic toxicity:

No long-term toxicity studies with the test item are available. The most sensitive species tested in a short-term toxicity test was the algae, revealing an ErC50 (72 h) of 6.17 mg/L. As the test item is not ready biodegradable, the substance is classified as long-term (chronic) aquatic cat. 2 (H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP/GHS), as amended for the fifteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2020/1182.
