Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Stopwatch;
Base plate: an impervious, non-combustible, low heat-conducting plate, used to support the sample train; such as an ceramic plate, etc. Its length should be more than 270 mm and breadth be more than 40 mm;
Electromagnetic ignitor: made by a silicon carbon rod, minimum temperature 1000℃;
Solid burning rate tester: equipped with a specified mould used to form the sample train, inner long 250 mm.

Phenomena and results from two independent preliminary screening tests, were identical as following: the sample does not ignite during burning its one end for 2 min.

It can be ascertained that the sample is not a flammable solid based on the results of the preliminary screening test.

Conclusions:
The sample is not a flammable solid.

Description of key information
