Test results (Oxidising solids)
- Key result
- Sample tested:
- test mixture (not specified)
- Parameter:
- maximum burning rate
- Result:

Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The test item has no oxidizing properties in the sense of the consolidated version of Council Direc- tive 67/548/EEC Annex V, Method A.17.
- Executive summary:
Preliminary test:
Two test mixtures with the test item and cellulose 2:1 burned not down, the flame extinguished after approximately one second.
Three test mixtures with barium nitratelcellulose 2:1 burned down completely in 85, 88 and 97 s. Due to the results of the preliminary test the full test had to be performed.
Main test:
Five tests were performed for the reference mixture with40, 50, 55, 60 and 70 percent oxidizer.
The highest burning rate 0.84 mm/s was found for the mixture with 55% oxidizer
Mixtures of the test item with cellulose were prepared in10%-increments. Additional tests with 5 and 100 wt. % test item and pure cellulose were performed.Due to the fact that the mixture with 20% of test item burned slower and mixtures with 30 and 50% the flame went out or could not be ignited, no tests were performed for mixtures with 40, 60, 70, 80 and 90%.
Six tests were performed for the mixtures with the highest burning rates of 5 and 10 wt.% of test item.
The maximum burning rate of the mixtures of the test item and cellulose (0.79 mm/s) was less than the maximum burning rate of the reference mixture of cellulose and barium nitrate (0.84 mm/s)
