Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

After the exposure of 48 hrs. the median effective concentration (EC50) for the test substance Disulfo copper phthalocyanine amine salt, in Daphnia magna was determined to be 42.7 mg/L with 95% CI was 29.8-61.1 mg/l on the basis of mobiity inhibition effects in a 48 hour study. Based on the this value, indicates that the substance Disulfo copper phthalocyanine amine salt (1328 -51 -4) is likely to be hazardous to aquatic invertebrates and can be classified as aquatic chronic 3 as per the CLP criteria.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

After the exposure of chemical, effect concentration ErC50 was calculated using nonlinear regression by the software Prism 4.0. The median effective concentration (EC50) for the test substance Disulfo copper phthalocyanine amine salt (1328 -51 -4), in Desmodesmus subspicatus was determined to be 37.1 mg/L on the basis of effects on growth rate in a 72 hour study. In the key study for the target chemical was taken from the ABITEC report 2017. Aim of this study was to assess the short term toxicity of Disulfo copper phthalocyanine amine salt (1328 -51 -4) to aquatic invertebrates daphnia magna. Study was performed according to the OECD guideline in a static system for the total exposure period of 48 hrs. Test performed under the static system. The stock solution 100 mg/l was prepared by dissolving dark blue powder in reconstituted water. The solution was kept in ultrasonic bath for 20 min. Test solutions of required concentrationas were prepared by mixing the stock solution of the test sample in reconstituted test water. Various nominal concentrations 0, 10, 18, 32, 58, 100 mg/l were used.

Effects on immobilisation were observed for 48 hours. With the test substance one positive control Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) was also run simultaneously.
