Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

If Inhaled: Remove to fresh air, if not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen and get immediate medical attention.

On Skin Contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation occurs.

On Contact With Eyes: In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water
and seek medical advice.

If Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs naturally, have casualty lean forward to reduce the risk of aspiration. Seek medical attention immediately.

Notes to physician: Specific identity of this product or component(s) of this product is withheld as a trade secret. A more complete description will be provided to a doctor or nurse in the event of a medical emergency.

Aggravated Medical Conditions: None known.

Fire-fighting measures

Flash Point: >200 deg C

Suitable Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam or water mist. A strong jet stream of water is not suitable.

Fire Fighting Instructions: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to
prevent skin and eye contact in fire situations.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: None known. The substance is safe to use under normal conditions.

Flammability Classification: Combustible liquid

Known or Anticipated Hazardous Products of Combustion: Oxides of carbon and sulphur

Accidental release measures

Accidental Release Measures: Shut off all sources of ignition. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, carefully absorb substance with inert material, sweep up material and place in suitable labelled containers for disposal. Use only non-sparking tools. Avoid creating a dusting condition. Wash spill area after pick-up is complete, collecting all clean up water for appropriate disposal.

Environmental Precautions: Avoid releasing to the environment.

Methods for Cleaning Up: Use mechanical handling equipment. Collect the spilled product into
suitable containers, which must be tightly sealed and properly labeled.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use appropriate personal protection equipment. Avoid eye, skin and clothing contact.
Avoid repeated and prolonged contact. Prevent buildup of static electricity. All equipment should be properly grounded.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible materials. Keep container tightly closed.

Store away from heat, sparks, and flame.

Protect containers against damage.

Keep material in supplier’s packaging.

Other Precautions: Avoid contact of material with open flames. Melts at temperatures > 14°C, heat at 20°C for liquid form

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Controls: Use in well ventilated areas. Do not breathe fumes.

Ventilation Requirements: Use local exhaust to minimize vapour exposure. Use mechanical ventilation for general area control.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Eye/Face Protection: Wear safety glasses or goggles to protect against dust particles.

Skin Protection: Wear chemical resistant gloves and protective clothing.

Respiratory Protection: Wear appropriate approved respiratory equipment if there is the potential for airborne exposures.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable under normal conditions of handling and use.

Conditions to Avoid: Ignition sources.

Incompatibility With Other Materials: Strong oxidizers, strong acids, strong bases.

Hazardous Decomposition Products: No decomposition expected under normal storage conditions.

Possibility of Hazardous Reactions: None expected.

Disposal considerations

Disposal Considerations: Dispose of waste at an approved chemical disposal facility in compliance with all current Local and National laws and regulations.
