Additional information

For Blankophor TP 1480 (EC 934 -958 -4) no tests are available. Therefore studies conducted with the structural analogue CAS 16470 -24 -9 are used to cover the aquatic toxicity endpoints. For CAS 16470 -24 -9 short-term studies on freshwater species of three trophic levels (fish, invertebrates and algae) are available. In addition a chronic study for invertebrates (Daphnia magna) is conducted with CAS 16470 -24 -9. Effects on microorganisms were tested on activated domestic sludge.

All available studies followed current guidelines (OECD and EU-guidelines) and were conducted in accordance with GLP requirements.

The acute tests resulted in no effects up to the highest test concentrations and thus the LC/EC50-values were above 100 mg/L (in detail: LC50(fish, 96 h) > 859 mg/L, EC50(daphnids, 48 h) > 113 mg/L and EC50(algae, 72 h) > 1000 mg/L). For microorganims an EC50(3 h) > 10000 mg/L was reported.

The chronic test on daphnids resulted in NOEC (21 d) based on reproduction of 10 mg/L. The LOEC (21 d) was determined to be 31.6 mg/L.

Concluding from the results obtained with the read-across substance CAS 16470 -24 -9 for Blankophor TP 1480 no adverse effects on aquatic organisms are expected.
