Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
Due to the chemical structure of the test substance it was not possible to determine the partition coefficient in the non-ionised form
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Due to the chemical structure of the test substance it was not possible to determine the partition coefficient in the non-ionised form. The pka-value of the carboxylic acid group is 3,5, the pka value of the sulfonic acid group is 0,6. The Determination of the Partition Coefficient at a pH-value below 0,6 is not feasible. The partition coefficient of the substance under the experimental conditions was <0.3 (less than the lowest standard 2 -Butanone).
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The substance does not have a relevant bioaccumulation. This is also in correlation to the chemical structure (salt).
