In a guinea pig maximization test (according to OECD Guideline 406, positive control not required by 1981 guideline version), sensitization was not observed in any of 20 animals (Huels AG, 1988a).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of the sensitisation test, isophorone does not need to be classified according to Directive 67/548/EEC and according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
