Description of key information
The flammability of tantalum pentachloride was tested according to Regulation 440/2008/EC Method A.10.

In a preliminary screening test, the test substance was formed into a powder train about 250 mm long, 20 mm wide and 10 mm high. The flame of a gas burner was applied. No ignition occurred.
Justification for classification or non-classification
Since the test substance did not ignite, tantalum pentachloride is not classified in accordance with Section 2.7.2.3., Annex I of Regulation 1272/2008/EC and Section 33.2. of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (5threvised ed.).
