All existing studies regarding toxicity to aquatic organisms suggest that 1,4-bis[(ethenyloxy)methyl]cyclohexane is acutely toxic. A 96h acute test on fish revealed a LC50 of 1.54 mg/l while an acute 48h test on invertebrates resulted in an EC50 of 1.41 mg/l. Regarding aquatic green algae an acute test was performed by BASF (2010) resulting in an EC50 (72h) of 2.18 mg/L based on mean measured concentration.
