Conclusion on classification

2-phenoxyethanol has shown to be readily biodegradable. Available data on bioaccumulation indicate no bioaccumulation potential of the substance. The most sensitive reliable acute aquatic value with a standard test species is an LC50 of 344 mg/L (fish). The most sensitive reliable chronic toxicity value is a NOEC of 9.43 mg/L (Daphnia). Thus, the substance is not classified according to EU GHS, or according to DSD/DPD.
