The registered substance is an inorganic, mineral fibre. As stated in REACH Annex XIII (as amended by Regulation 253/2011), PBT assessment applies to organic substances (including organo-metals) so is not relevant in this case. It is also notable that the documented physicochemical properties of the substance (fibrous form, essentially insoluble in water, etc.) and general absence of biological activity give rise to no concern regarding possible bioaccumulation.
