Auto-ignition temperature

349

Conclusions:
An auto-ignition temperature of 349°C at 959 to 971 hPa has been determined for the substance using an appropriate test method. The result is considered reliable.

Description of key information

Auto-ignition temperature: 349°C at 959 - 971 hPa (DIN 14522, Method S)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
349 °C

Additional information

Two reliable auto-ignition temperature studies are available for trichloro(propyl)silane. A measured auto-ignition temperature value of 349°C at 959 to 971 hPa was determined for the substance in accordance with DIN EN 14522, Method S and in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

The key study is supported by another measured auto-ignition temperature value of 360°C at 1013 hPa which was determined in accordance with ASTM E659 -78 test method but not in compliance with GLP.

In available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, auto-ignition temperature value of 355°C at 1013 hPa was reported for the substance.
