Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Since 2-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate and its hydrolysis products are considered readily biodegradable, an indirect exposure to soil via sewage sludge transfer is unlikely. In addition, no direct releases to soil from point sources are known; therefore, significant exposure of terrestrial compartments is not expected. At production sites acrylates are handled in closed systems for polymerisation. Diffuse releases into the environment may occur from residual monomers in the polymeric products. Furthermore, the physical and chemical properties of 2-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate demonstrate a low potential for bioaccumulation (log Pow = 0.43).

In conclusion, based on such low exposure levels studies on terrestrial organisms are not required. Thus, risk assessment will be based on EPM.
