Endpoint:
viscosity
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a valid (Q)SAR model and falling into its applicability domain, with adequate and reliable documentation / justification
Justification for type of information:
See attached QMRF/QPRF
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The result was obtained using an appropriate QSAR method (see attached QMRF and QPRF for details).

The model for viscosity has been developed for, and applies specifically to, methoxysilane compounds. It is a linear regression based model with the normal boiling point of the substance as the single descriptor.
Key result
Temp.:
20°C
Parameter:
kinematic viscosity (in mm²/s)
Value:
1.4
Conclusions:
A kinematic viscosity of 1.4 mm²/s at 20°C was obtained using an accepted calculation method. The result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Viscosity: 1.4 mm2/s at 20°C (QSAR)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
1.4 mm²/s (static)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

A predicted kinematic viscosity value of 1.4 mm2/s at 20°C was determined for the substance using a validated QSAR estimation method. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

In available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, viscosity values of 1.4 mPa·s (dynamic) at 20°C and 1.2 mPa·s (dynamic) at 25°C were reported for the substance.
