Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
In case of Inhalation: Move to fresh air and if symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Consult a physician.
In case of swallowing: Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
suitable: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, water spray, alcohol-resistant foam
unsuitable: High volume water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
May form toxic gases on heating or in case of fire.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective euipment to fire fighters: In the event of fire, wear self contained breathing apparatus.
Further information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water seperately. this must not be discharged into drains. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration. Inform the relevant authorities if it enters sewers, aquatic environment or soil.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Have eye wash bottle or eye rinse ready at the work place.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Take precautions against dust explosion.
2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
Further information on storage conditions: Avoid dust formation. Keep in a dry place. Product is hygroscopic.
3. Specific end uses
Raw material for pharmaceutical industry. Reagent for organic synthesis.

Exposure controls / personal protection
2. Engineering measures: Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Dust must be extracted directly at the point of origin.
3. Hand protection: Nitrile rubber. Protective gloves complying with EN 374. The exact break through time can be obtained from the protective glove producer and this has to be observed. Protective gloves have to be replaced at the first sign of deterioration.
4. Body protection: Chemical resistant protective clothing according to DIN EN 13034 (Type 6)
5. Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166
6. Respiratory protection: Recommended Filter type: Half mask with a particle filter P2 (EN 143).
7. Hygiene measures: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Do not breathe dust.
8. Protective measures: Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and safety shower. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
9. Environmental exposure controls: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration. Inform the relevant authorities if it enters sewers, aquatic envi-ronment or soil.
Stability and reactivity
No hazards to be specially mentioned.
Chemical stability
No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
Possibility of hazardous reactions
Hazardous reactions: None reasonably foreseeable.
Conditions to avoid
Conditions to avoid: Product is hygroscopic.
Incompatible materials
Materials to avoid: Strong acids Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products
Risk of decomposition: In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as: Bromine
Thermal decomposition: To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.
Disposal considerations
Contaminated packaging: Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations.
Waste Code: Waste codes should be assigned by the user, preferably in discussion with the waste disposal authorities.
