Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

For the evaluation of this endpoint data from the CRC handbook (1974) was used as key information. A newer version of the CRC handbook was used as supportive information. It was decided to use the older CRC version as key information instead of the newer CRC version, since the water solubility in the older version was measured at 20°C, which is the prefer temperature at which water solubility should be measured according to the OECD 105 guideline. The newer CRC version stated a value for water solubility measured at 25°C. Furthermore, the Merck Index stated the water solubility of strontium chloride hexahydrate. This information was used as supportive information.

According to "ECHA, Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment – Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance", handbook data are considered to be from a trusted source. These handbooks including the CRC handbook.

According to the key information, strontium chloride is highly soluble in water (538000 mg/L determined at 20°C; no pH was given).

According to the supportive information, strontium chloride hexahydrate is also highly soluble in water (1250000 mg/L determined at ca. 25°C; no pH was given).
