Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to Yaws Handbook of Physical Properties for Hydrocarbons and Chemicals (Electronic Edition) perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (PMVE) at the pressure of 1 atm melts/freezes at -155.15°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-155.15 °C

Additional information

Information regarding melting/freezing point of perfluoromethyl vinyl ether was sourced from Yaws Handbook of Physical Properties for Hydrocarbons and Chemicals (Electronic Edition), known to contain peer-reviewed data of Klimisch-2 reliability, which reports that the test substance freezes at -155.15°C at 1 atm.

Based on the information obtained from secondary sources such as Company SDS the substance has a melting/freezing point < - 130 °C. Altought the datum obtained from the secondary sources is considered of Klimisch-4 reliability, it is consistent with the value reported by Yaws Handbook of Physical Properties for Hydrocarbons and therefore considered a supporting information.
