Additional information

For long-term toxicity to fish, one study is available on unspecified kaolin powder describing a bioassay on hatching success, growth and survival, and feeding behaviour of juvenile fish, using Oncorhynchus mykiss as test species (Hashimoto et al. 1986). The study revealed a 10-d NOEC value of 100 mg/L for hatching success. The survival and growth study on juvenile fish showed a NOEC(30d) of 100 mg/L for mortality and a NOEC(30d) of 300 mg/L for effects on length and weight. A NOEC(30 min) of 10 mg/L was determined, indicating reduced feeding of juvenile fish at higher concentrations.
