Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on QSAR calculations using the weighted measured log Kow value, Alcohols, C9-C11, branched is expected to have a low order of toxicity to soil dwelling organisms. Alcohols, C9-C11, branched may not be soluble enough to measure the predicted 14-day EC50 of 177.2 mg/kg.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
177.2 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

There are no experimental data using standard testing procedures that can be used for assessing the terrestrial hazard of Alcohols, C9 -C11, branched.  However, there is a calculated (ECOSAR) earthworm 14-day value of 177.2 mg/kg soil.

The modeled earthworm data would suggest that Alcohols, C9 -11, branched has a low order of toxicity to soil dwelling organisms. However, it is possible to qualitatively conclude, based on available QSAR data, that this substance does not pose an unacceptable risk to the terrestrial compartment.
